Vintage Bricks: Coachwhips – Bangers vs. Fuckers

Really feeling this album Bangers vs. Fuckers by Coachwhips. One of John Dwyer’s many precursors to Thee Oh Sees, you can definitely see where his intentions lied in regards to the future of his musical meanderings. Released in January 2004, it’s 18 minutes of rambunctious distortion and frenzied blues riffs, with Dwyer’s signature yelping sounding its most intense. Throw in some smash mouth drumming courtesy of Matt Hartman and wild organs via someone or something known only as Val Tronic and you have a record that made more than one person wonder if they were playing it at the proper RPM speed on their turntable.
