Song Of The Day: Chelsea Light Moving – Burroughs

Thurston Moore’s latest project, Chelsea Light Moving is releasing its self titled debut March 5th via Matador, and I’m surprised how taken to this I was. Never being a huge fan but not hating Thurston’s more prominent band Sonic Youth, I probably wouldn’t have even given this a listen if they hadn’t been listed on Thrasher Magazine’s Death Match bill at SXSW this year. Pretty stoked I took the time to listen to this and another track, Groovy and Linda, both of which have a fuzzed out slow burn to them that doesn’t quite let your mind wander away for too long before building into frenetic finishes. Great videos as well. Check it out along with full U.S. tour listings in the link below.(They hit Philly April 3rd at Union Transfer.)
